“It is health which is real wealth, and not pieces of gold and silver” – Mahatma Gandhi
If you are healthy, nobody can stop you from achieving all the Gold & Silver of the world.
We at INDAG have always promoted health and wellness among our people in the company and society. We have been working with YouthReach, a national non-profit organization based in New Delhi, on a key project- Project Chetna, promoting social well-being. Under this project, we have been working in the area of health and sanitation for the past five years – from toilet construction to health camps and diagnostic tests for villagers.
The team recently conducted health camps on the field where diagnostic tests were conducted for truckers and the other community members at Truck Union, Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh. More than 100 people were tested with these camps, and many more were educated about lifestyle diseases through one-to-one sessions. Under the Health Club program, the team has been able to reach out to more than 1000 people till date with a set of 7 diagnostic tests. It has been a very fruitful and enriching exercise for the INDAG team as well as the truckers at the truck union.
From July 2019 onwards, we started conducting diagnostic tests at the truck union of Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. Community members are tested for Haemoglobin, Sugar, Hypertension, Malaria, Typhoid, Urine, Cholesterol, and Hepatitis B at a very negligible cost. People are also informed about preventive and precautionary measures one can adopt to get the vitals right. Junior health coordinators also conduct one-to-one awareness sessions and group sessions with the community members and the truckers.
We hope to continue the efforts in the future as well and do every bit to improve social healthcare and well-being in the society around us.
